Way to go William!

On Saturday, July 17, 2010, William participated in his first triathalon. He signed up with his brother Daniel for the Scofield sprint triathalon. A sprint triathalon consists of a 750m swim, 12.6 mile bike ride, and 5 km run. I was so proud of William he did so awesome. He hardly trained at all. He only practiced swimming once, ran 1 5k before, and was barely able to bike. 2 months prior to the race, William sprained his ankle pretty bad while playing basketball with his scouts. The sprain was so bad that the ligament chipped off a piece of his bone. Despite not being able to do much and dealing with the pain, William did the tri anyway. Chris and Alissa were nice enough to let us come and stay at their cabin in Scofield so that we would have to get up so early in the morning to make it to the race. We really appreciated that and we are so greatful to have them as friends. After watching William and Daniel do the tri, Alissa and I got really motivated and have committed to doing the race next year. I am a little nervous for the swim, but I think it will be an awesome accomplishment.
